When they began their journey in early 2024, the goal was clear: to make sustainable Australian tuna more affordable for every household while expanding support for Australian fishing families.
This path wasn’t without its challenges. Over 20 years ago, Australia’s canning infrastructure was sold off, leaving no large-scale onshore options or MSC-certified facilities to meet the rigorous standards required for ethical and sustainable production.
After months of research and several onshore and offshore site visits, they found a trusted service provider in an MSC-certified cannery in Thailand. This state-of-the-art facility meets the highest standards for ethical practices, sustainability, and traceability, allowing us to stay true to Little Tuna’s core values.
